Audio Visual Collection
The Thomason Audio Visual Collection contains 41 individual audiocassette recordings. These audiocassette recordings include oral history interviews of several Huntsville and Walker County residents. The oral history interviews were recorded by Paul Culp, Charles Dwyer, and Dr. Gerald Holder. The collection also includes poetry readings, music, and radio broadcasts that concern Texas and past employees of Sam Houston State University.
Barry Mark Phillips Photograph Collection
This collection contains reproductions of original historic Sam Houston State University photographs from 1906 to the 1970s. The ten photograph reproductions include early aerials of the campus, the Old Main Building in various years, an exhibit of Sam Houston Normal College memorabilia, a display of an early science lab in the Science and Administration Building, and a group photograph of the 1908 Sam Houston Normal Institute faculty.
Black Lives Matter Posters
Four posters with names and bible scriptures written on the front and back, along with "Black Lives Matter", for use during the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020.
Donald V. Coers Collection
Eleanor Smith Garrett Collection
This collection is composed of materials belonging to Eleanor Smith Garrett during her time at Sam Houston State Teachers College, including SHSTC A Cappella Choir concert programs, a graduation letter from President Harmon Lowman, and the SHSTC Bulletin 75th anniversary edition.
George J. Beto Papers
The collection consists of materials, such as papers, publications, and photographs, owned or related to Dr. George J. Beto throughout his life and long career in criminal justice. The collection was compiled and donated to the SHSU Special Collections by George Beto's son, Dan Beto.
Holm Newspaper and Periodical Collection
This collection contains materials donated by Cathy Holm. Materials include newspapers and periodicals covering the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as well as local newspapers from the 1990s.
Huntsville Walker County Photographs Collection
Many photographs within the collection have been acquired by former Special Collections Librarians. Some can be found in the Times & Places Collection at the following link: http://walkercountytreasures.com/thumbnails.php?album=10 Other photographs within the collection have been collected from individual donors and the Walker County Historical Commission.
James Gilliam Gee Collection
This collection is mainly composed of James Gilliam Gee's biographical materials along with his wife, Cecile Gibbs Gee's guest book.
